Play is hard work even at the beach

Here's something I did that has nothing to do with papercrafting or Cricut.

It's an oil painting of my daughters when they were much younger at the beach.   Here are the original photos that I used for reference:

I opted to simplify the scene by removing the people in the background and my husband's legs.

I used close ups that I had taken to help with facial details in the painting.

I'm am still amazed at the concentration of kids at play and I really tried to convey what I saw in this picture to the left on my painting.
Hopefully, you don't mind that my post is a little different today.  I thank you for looking and would love to have you comment.

Butterfly Birthday Easle Card

Here's a card I made  quite a while ago using the followng Cricut cartridges: Lyrical Letters ("Birthday Wishes"), Accent Essentials (flowers), Indie Art Solutions (butterfly) & Mother's Day Seasonal  (border).

The butterfly was cut using plain vellum that was inked softly for some colour.  The body of the butterfly is inexpensiv pearl beads coloured black with a sharpie.

The sentiment on the inside was printed using MS Word.

Thanks for looking.
