The bride box was cut from Recollections shimmer cardstock while the groom box was cut from regular Recollections cardstock. I used the fit to page setting to cut the boxes as large as possible from the letter sized paper. I cut the groom box out twice - once in black and the other in white, so that the groom's shirt could be white on the box. I had to hand cut the collar piece off the white box to attached to the black box but the front of the shirt for the groom box is already a separate piece.
I think these would make a wonderful favor boxes for a wedding especially if you embellished them a little more (perhaps a boutonnière or pocket square on the groom and a ribbon on the bride's waist?). Here's a side view of the boxes:The bride box is approximately 4.75" x 3.5" x 1" while the groom box is approximately 5" x 2.5" x 1". I put about four individually wrapped toffee candies in each of the boxes.
To be clear, none of the attendees (including my hubby and I) are newlyweds, so I really am curious as to how the evening will go. In the meantime, I just have to figure out what appetizer I'm going to make to bring. Maybe I'll feel ambitious and make some California Sushi Rolls....
